67% of local ADP funds used: P&D dept

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Planning and Development department (P&D) claims to have utilised 67.5% of local portion of the Annual Development Programme 2014-15.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the P&D department stated that out of the total Rs100.05 billion allocated for the ADP from local resources, Rs68 billion were utilised by the end of May.

At the same time, of the Rs39 billion in foreign funding, Rs30.1 billion was used in the current fiscal year, about 75%.

There was also a significant increase in expenditure trends of the P&D department which claimed to have fully utilised the allocated share for “pro-poor initiatives”.

However, certain core departments only used up around half of their total allocation, including public health engineering, health, law and justice, regional development, relief and rehabilitation and science and technology.

Agriculture, auqaf, energy and power, higher education, housing and urban development departments utilised more than 80% of their allocations, added the handout.

Following closely are the elementary and secondary education, building, rural development, district ADP, environment, forest, roads, social welfare and water departments that have achieved 70% of their allocations.
